Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent with over 60% of the world’s population and is defined as part of the land mass known of Eurasia with over 50 countries or territories in its vast boundaries. We traditionally know it as 2 regions – the Far East (China, Japan, Mongolia, Taiwan, North & South Korea) or Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Burma, Cambodia, the Phillipines & Singapore). It has the world’s two largest economies – Japan & China which are also two of the oldest countries in existence. The world’s major religions are prominent throughout Asia with the world's largest Muslim community (within the bounds of one nation) is in Indonesia. The sites of Asia are incredible with a diverse range such as the Great Wall of China, headhunters in Malaysia, visiting the hilltribes in Vietnam or Thailand, enjoying the beaches of Bali or just plain old people watching with so many different cultures throughout this intriguing part of the world. |
